Barracudas Withstand Crocodile Attack
Sporting history made its mark in Denmark on Saturday, 8 June, 1991, with the first ever official game of Aussie Rules football taking place in Fælledparken, Copenhagen. The North Copenhagen "Barracudas" defeated the Copenhagen "Crocodiles", 9 goals, 13 behinds, 67, to 4 goals, 5 behinds, 29. The game was played at a high standard with the first score coming after 16 minutes. The Barracudas opened the scoring by a fine goal from Mick Sitch and by half time, lead 36 points to 9. The Crocodiles launched a third quarter attack with two "running" goals from Robbie Larsen, closing the score gap to only 8 points. Tragedy then struck the Crocodiles when centreman Steve Mance injured his knee and was unable to continue. The Barracudas again took control to run out winners 67 points to 29 points.
